Nathalie Arthaud (born February 23, 1970) is a French Workers' Struggle politician and candidate to the French presidential election, 2012.[1] She is a native of Peyrins, Drôme, France.

Political background and candidacy

In 2007, Arthaud was a teacher and spokeswoman of Arlette Laguiller presidential bid.

During the press conference following the annual meeting of Workers' Struggle (LO), December 8, 2008, Nathalie Arthaud was the officially designated spokesman of the party. She explained that the choice of a spokesperson is a deliberate feminist choice: "It is a voluntary policy that we take completely, including our fellow men. They are very proud. I remind you Arlette Laguiller was the first woman to run for president in France, a sign that control has always been working on this issue."

As a new leader of LO, she leads the party's campaign for the European elections in June 2009. She topped the list in the South-East constituency where she obtained 24,727 votes and 0.84 percent.

At the regional election of 2010 in Rhône-Alpes, it leads the list gets 24,294 votes and 1.42 percent, in last position. On December 5, 2010, she is designated candidate of Workers' Struggle party in the presidential election of 2012.[2]
